Shipwreck Survivor

The only survivor of a shipwreck was washed up on a small, uninhabited island. He prayed feverishly for God to rescue him, and every day he scanned the horizon for help, but none seemed forthcoming. Exhausted, he eventually managed to build a little hut out of driftwood to protect him from the elements, and to store his few possessions.

One day, after scavenging for food, he arrived home to find his little hut in flames, and soon there was nothing left. The worst had happened, and everything was lost. He was stunned with disbelief, grief, and anger. 'God, how could you do this to me?' he cried.

Early the next day he was awakened by the sound of a ship approaching the Island. It had come to rescue him. 'How did you know I was here?' Asked the weary man of his rescuers. 'We saw your smoke signal,' they replied.

It's easy to get discouraged when things are going bad, but we shouldn't lose heart, because God is at work in our lives, even in the midst of pain, and suffering. Remember this the next time your 'hut' seems to be burning to the ground. It just may be a smoke signal that summons the Grace of God.

i can't think straight in army. i always feel so.. clouded. i don't know =/ maybe i'm just too busy and i don't take a deep breath and focus on God. maybe i should start.. hmmm...

anyway. 16km in 1hr 10min(: i'm gonna push myself for 42km in 3hr 30mins. i don't care if i get injured. it's probably my last shot at running my best marathon while i'm still young. i'm so disgusted with my recent slow 2.4km timings and lack of running in general. what kind of a fitness spec am i -_- time to RUN!

on a side note, i'm obessed with david cook's always be my baby. ahaha.

♥ what time are you?

You're 6:49 a.m.
You're the time of day right around sunrise, when the sky is still a pale bluish gray. The streets are empty, and the grass and leaves are a little bit sparkly with dew. You are the sound of a few chirpy birds outside the window. You are quiet, peaceful, and contemplative. If you move slowly, it's not because you're lazy ? it's because you know there's no reason to rush. You move like a relaxed cat, pausing for deep stretches that make your muscles feel alive. You are long sips of tea or coffee (out of a mug that's held with both hands) that slowly warm your insides just as the sun is brightening the sky.

hahaha... doesn't sound like me. i think i'm more of 11:59pm like celeste :P

♥ FRESH FRUITS!!!!

yesterday i ate freshly plucked durians and rambutans. YUM!!!

i guess one advantage (probably the only advantage) of being in a jungle-like camp like seletar is the ABUNDANCE OF WONDERFUL FRUIT TREES :D

right outside my office is an awesome durian tree with 15 lovely durians hanging on it(: on mon morning, we found one on the floor so we.. ATE IT. and it was GREAT. yahooo!!! on the way to lunch, we saw one of the rambutan trees full of bright red rambutans. i cannot descibe the taste of a freshly pucked rambutan! it's juicy, and sweet... and the skin from the seed doesn't come off!! how nice is that:D

and i discovered there are multiple durian/mango/rambutan trees all over camp. yum yum yum:D

and oh yes. i'm officially locally promoted to 2SG. waaaah laaaao =/ no pay, just more arrows. saaad.
