today was best. had a new haircut :) i like!

anyway, busy busy day. woke up, had breakfast with cousins, came back and gave drum lessons. after a quick bath, i rushed for a haircut, then made it to tm412. settled basic admin stuff, played for worship, had exec meeting, had cgl meeting and conducted part of it. after that i went to meet aliba with chris. then chris and i had a HTHT. ended up crying extremely unglamourously in starbucks. hahaha. besst.

okay i came online to blog but i got distracted by many things.

I love audacious band(: okay i'm blogging cos.. i feel like i need to. ahaha.

JUMPING IN WORSHIP. contrary to what i've heard a lot of people say, i'm sorry. i don't think songs like bounce and tribe of praise (that's the pump your fist) are just songs to hype you up.

That's what I thought on the first night of worship, but after spending a few days at LOUDFEST, i've gained a new perspective(: (and whoever didn't go.. you guys missed out big time. especially you cheapos who only went for the night. SAD FOR YOU. THE DAYS WAS AWESOME. )

jumping in worship is a genuine expression of worship. it's not just a youth culture thing. In the book of Ephesians.. Paul mentioned over 30 times that we are IN GOD. In God, is entheos in greek. and entheos is the word that we get ENTHUSIASM from. interesting?(: What does being enthusiastic mean? How about.. Raving? Overboard? Crazy?

Love that definition. ahaha. but anyway, we should be enthusiastic! don't we have joy in Jesus Christ? Do we not have freedom? Have we not been set free? Do we not live under no condemnation because Jesus took our sins upon himself? Friends, we should be excited. i know this doesn't refer to everyone, but for you reading this right now.. just think about something/someone you really love right now. for example, if i really love john mayer, i would go absolutely nuts if i saw him and he played some sick solo. absolute bananas. (i would. haha.) but anyway, if we can give john mayer (or whoever or whatever) that kind of praise, how can we give Jesus any less?

I mean, come on. Jesus?! Our Saviour?! Our best friend?! King of Kings?! Lord of Lords?! AWESOMEST GUY EVER?!?!?!

all across the bible, old AND new testament, people worshipped God by jumping, leaping, and dancing with joy. and why shouldn't we? We have the GOOD news. don't we? (: it's not bad news. it's GOOD news. come on! let's CELEBRATE it!! let's jump around, and dance, and celebrate God's goodness:D i would go a bit more and talk about the different greek/hebrew words for worship, but i'm lazy to google it now. u can check it out if you want ;) but dancing, singing, shouting, are just a few forms of worship refered to in the Bible! yeah, google it.

pumping your fist? i dunno if that's biblical, but it sure is about victory and war. i mean listen to the song again. (follow the link on top, tribe of praise) check out the lyrics, we are going out to make a change in this world with the power of God upon us!! This is spiritual warfare, friends. and we have victory in Jesus Christ! why shouldn't we pump our hands in the air? (: we're pumping it in victory. (incidentally, "conversative" christians do pump their fists in worship from time to time. just that it's during hyms. but yeah!)

i think Jesus deserves the maximum praise!! Yes, there is a place for meditation, reverent awe, and all that. but i also think there is a time and place for celebration and victory! right? (: there's is a place on it all. we should really learn to celebrate God's goodness. because He is good!!

I learnt truckloads from this conference. and it was waay exceeded my expectations. rather, God has(: i got tons of notes. ahaha. and all very practical. yes, no regrests going this :D God spoke some very specific stuff into my life just now at the night session. very happy (: very challenged. very excited.

"This year when I was in South Africa, my son Jaedon was approached by a friend who asked him a very interesting question. (Jaedon was two and a half at the time and he had been wearing a tracksuit top with the word 'LEGEND' on the back.) My friend said, 'Jaedon, are you a legend?' Jaedon thought about it for a while and then replied, 'No, I'm a spaceship!' We laughed, but it got me thinking......

Jaedon was wearing clothes that labelled him, in this case, as a 'legend'. My friend confirmed what the clothing said, and asked Jaedon if it was indeed true that he was a legend.

In life, so many things label you. Your clothes label you as something; people label you as something else (through their words and actions towards you). In that one small profound moment, Jaedon decided that he wasn't going to be what his clothes said he was and he certainly wasn't going to be labelled or defined by what someone called him. He wasn't having any of it. He wasn't a legend, he was a SPACESHIP!

When I was in school, I was bullied for several years. I began to think and act like a victim. It became a habit to me. I was used to thinking like a victim. I was used to behaving like a victim. But God helped me to see that I was NOT THAT man! I was able to throw off a label (bullied) that had contained me for a long time, and I was able to live a different life.

In the Bible, Jesus helps us to see that we need not be labelled or defined by things that have contained us! Maybe you have been labelled by your past, the future, your emotional or mental state, regrets, fears or failures. Jesus says, 'I have come that (you) may have life, and have it to the full.'

The story of Jesus is all about how He came to prove that only He could give FULL, MAXIMUM, ABUNDANT life.' He proved it by doing miracles (impossible feats that only God could perform).

There are over 30 distinct miracles that Jesus accomplished; one of the most famous is that he healed a man with leprosy. That man had been known as 'The man with leprosy' for a long time. He was defined by his leprosy, yet in a moment Jesus took away the very thing that labelled him. He was no longer 'The man with leprosy.' He was now to be known as....... 'The man'.

Similarly, when Jesus raised 'the dead girl' to life. She changed her label and now became, 'the girl.'

We read about 'The deaf and mute man,' who became 'the man'. Also 'The paralysed man' who became 'the man.' Don't forget 'The boy with the evil spirit' who became 'the boy' or 'the crippled woman' became 'the woman.'

For each of these people, Jesus took off their label. He changed the thing that contained them and helped them to really live life the way it was meant to be lived.

The great miracle of Jesus for you is that you no longer need to live your life defined and labelled. You are no longer dysfunctional, fat, a loser, forgotten, rich, poor, smart, stupid, black, white, the son of your father or daughter of your mother, a widow, alone. You are no longer just the result of life's circumstance. You are now:

The man, the woman, the kid, the boy, the girl.

When Jesus says, 'I've come to give you life to the full', it means that you are no longer defined by what's happened, but rather 'whose' you are!

The Bible says in John 1:12, 'To all who receive Him, to those who believe in Him, He gave the right to become the children of God!' Who are you? If you say yes to God, you become a child of God and that means that God gives you the power to become the person He destined you to be. Instead of life defining you, you are now able to bring definition to life.

You are not a legend, you are a spaceship! "

today was a good day because i managed to swim (:

dinner was really really tensed though cos my mom saw my itouch =/ the service centre said there's no way they can repair it. sian man. hundreds of dollars down the drain. it's like.. 2-3 good cymbals worth of cash =/ but okay, she was really controlled. i really thank God for that. i realise now how much i let my mom's comments affect me. remembering something she said when i was p4 can still hurt me badly if i let it. and i wasn't even close to her then. SCARY.

ignite tomorrow. EXCITING. dunno why so many people don't wanna go. weirdoos. haha. i'll update when i come back from ignite(:

hi friends(: long time no update. ok, so i'll just whaack.

had a really nice meal with vanessa just now at bras basah macs(: that place is NICE. i kid you not man. the deco and everything. feels so comfortable and homey!! definitely going to spending a lot more time hanging out there when i go smu. and it was great talking to vanessa. she's the only one who bothers to listen to all my crap when other people would normally cut me off waaay beforehand. yay for vanessa:D talking about all that stuff really helped me to get all my thoughts together and stuff. she even let me describe all the episodes of boys be to her. heheheheh. yeah, really thank God for friends like her.

oh yes! i have officially been to the coolest toilet ever in my life yesterday!!! i heard about it once when i was primary 6, but only yesterday i've truly seen it for my eyes. Yes, you better believe it. A TOILET BOWL THAT WASHES YOUR BACKSIDE FOR YOU. haha, ok a bit gross to some of u nice dainty people. but i don't care. it's COOL (: just press a button, and this little machine comes out and sprays a steady jet of water upwards. the pressure is even adjustable! like WHOA. i'm so getting one of those for my house when i'm rich or something :D fancy toilet bowls man! and it was in an office building. AN OFFICE BUILDING. hahaha. makes me wonder about what other cool thing gadgets they might have(: speaking of cool stuff...

dragon ball evolution wasn't that cool. hahaha, as expected.. not as awesome as the actual cartoon. but still fairly interesting! it had it's good moments, but the script was a bit.. cheesy =/ first half was good. second half got a bit draggy lah. for those considering to see it.. it's alright. but not really a must see. i guess 3/5 stars (:

okay that roughly covers my weekend.. oh wait. it doesn't. SATURDAY.

saturday night ah.. sian. the night i lost my wallet and my itouch. i was so dang emo i couldn't even think straight anymore. i just told myself to just paste a big smile on my face so i won't spoil avelyn's 21st. managed to destress a bit by going to the steam bath with some of the other guys though. we're all crazy. heheheheh. (don't worry guys, i won't divulge your names on my public blog) woke up the next day, and got a call from this dude with an extremely strong china accent telling me he found my wallet. got my dad to fetch me down, thanked the guy profusely, God bless and save his soul, and went back to my dad's car. everything was intact... but my poor itouch looked like (and probably) it was run over by a car or something. the screen is all shattered. like OMT. it's a fairly new itouch=/ now dunno how much it'll cost to repair man. oooooh boy. my mom hasn't seen it yet. she's gonna fliiip.

hahaha. the more i blog the more i remember.

LAST NIGHT'S BBQ WAS THE BOMB. spent the night with shaun ong, esmond, and eugene. awesome brothers in Christ man. we are the boat boys. ahahaha. little boats coming together to raft up(: shaun prepared all the bbq stuff. lemme tell what we had.

we had..
1) Handmade beef burgers. Lightly toasted our burger buns ove the barbe and topped it off with yummy mozzarella and parmesan cheese. YUM!:D
2) Mid-joint Wings and Drumlets marinated in Shaun's special honey mustard space. simply sumptuous!
3) Big succulent prawns wrapped around tasty streaky bacon. The marriage of seafood and pork was just.. good(:
4) Big Fluffy Baked Potatoes stuffed with imba amounts of sour cream and freshly barbecued back bacon. *drool*

on top of the awesome food, there was the awesome time of conversation. we ended up talking until midnight at east coast lah. it was incredible. we talked about a lot things. things that need be followed-up. but nvm, i shall talk to some other relevant people about these issues (:

anyway, i realise i haven't been posting much about my life. not that anyone's terribly interested, but i guess it's good for memory's sake!

just came from malaysia yesterday. had a good holiday with ian, chris, and our families! not the BEST holiday that i've had, but hey, it was alright! managed to catch watchmen, which isn't too bad a movie!! a litttlee complex, but still not too bad (: for $4.50, i'm not complaining. hahaha.

realised a lot of things on this trip. for one, i realise that there are times when i seriously hate my two best friends. those numbskulls. ahaha. i'm not going into details. but seriously. sometimes i feel like oil and water with them, and i'm sure i make them equally mad. and i wonder if i'll survive the two months in china with them... hmmm..

i don't know what's wrong with me these days u know :/ it's almost as if my brain is divided into two. one half is functioning like the joash that everyone sees. but the other half is terribly conflicted, disturbed, and well.. almost driven nuts. with what? well.. EVERYTHING. sooo annoying. i wish i could flush my brain and press reset. i think it comes with age... just too many things slowly accumulating inside the brain. i can't imagine when i'm 30 lorh. i think i need to stop thinking or something. like seriously. (yeah, i'm still thinking about it. oh the irony.)

what makes a best friend? common interests? a shared childhood? similar personalities? going through fire together? i don't know. i have friends that fall in each category, but not one that has all 4. or 3 for that matter. am i the only one that looks at other cliques and feel jealous of them while secretly feeling unsatisfied with my own group? maybe. or maybe i'm thinking too much. aiyaaah. i don't think this really matters right. the friends that i have, are the friends that God has blessed me with. sure, i'll never have the perfect friend because we are all human. as much as i want to be a perfect friend to some, i know i can never be as well. right? right...?

so i should just make the best of what i have! is this what fellowship is about sometimes? i mean, you love people despite their flaws. just as how God loved us despite our flaws. except that God's love is on a much greater scale. but.. maybe that's what it's like. hm. i'll have to keep thinking about that. (hur hur, thinking.)

hm. i'll just stop here for now(: i just wish the rain would stop by 3 so i can go swimming!!

OH YA, i can't go for the sundown marathon cos of my china trip. k lah, the china trip is worth the sacrifice. but i was sooooo looking forward to running the marathon with some people. (though i would have gotten trashed along with my ego. but anyway.) aiyo. now.. how how? no more motivation to run those 20+km distances. i'm also missing both special terms at SMU. i hope i won't suffer because i missed those terms.

OH YA. haha. i got into the LKCSP. yay. after about 10mins of euphoria, the stress started to settle in. ahaha. A- averages for 4 years. goodness. can die. God help me.. or else i'll just kicked out of the programme and keep my free laptop. ahaha. see, my poor blog is so un-updated. nvm. who cares.
